Help and recommendations

New to PCs? Don’t know what parts to choose for your new PC? This page will help you out when using our site’s PC configurator.

Our configurator is quite intelligent, which means you won’t be able to select components that arent compatible with each other. So regardless of what you choose, your PC will be functional. However, by giving customers complete freedom when choosing their parts, they should aim to build the perfect PC for their needs.

Generally speaking, you’ll get more performance the more you spend on your core components (CPU and GPU). If you want to configure your PC purely for gaming, you should spend most of your budget on your GPU (graphics). If you don’t plan on playing games then you can forget about a powerful graphics card and spend more on a good CPU and fast storage.

If you value the look and physical appearance of your desktop PC then you’re welcome to select a higher-end case that you like the look of. You can also add some extras such as RGB lighting or individually sleeved cable extensions to make your PC really stand out.

Take a look at some configurations we’d recommend:

A good budget home office PC, okay for light gaming, available for $647 AUD
A good all round PC, appropriate for gaming, available for $865 AUD
Great CPU and quick NVMe drive for excellent desktop performance, compact size and quiet, available for $850 AUD
Excellent price to performance for gaming, available for $1,224 AUD
The perfect system for running the latest demanding games, looks great, can be overclocked, available for $1,805 AUD
